About
Who We Are
About Us
Queens Village advocates for African-American mothers, infants, and families. Infant mortality is at a high in Stark County, and we are dedicated to helping to decrease the disparity for African-American moms and babies. Through education and community involvement, we are working to change these outcomes. We are shifting not only racial disparities in birth outcomes, but also the conditions that drive inequity in maternal and infant health. We provide a safe space for Black mothers to support and be supported by their peers, to connect and relieve stress, process trauma, and to build a better world together for ourselves and our children.
Launched in April 2022, Queens Village Canton is a family-oriented organization dedicated to helping mothers of color and their families thrive and grow in their communities. Our focused goals are to share information and to impact the focus areas of childcare, access to quality and culturally relevant healthcare, and financial stability. We create spaces to have fun and make time to Relax, Repower, and Rise!

How Queens Village can assist pregnant moms.
Queens Village can help moms get connected to various resources in the community. We want to make things easier for moms. We are here to connect the dots. Our goal is to connect moms to competent and culturally competent healthcare professionals and community health care workers. We also have programs that educate about breastfeeding and best sleeping practices. Completion of these programs results in incentives and a free pack ‘n’ play for babies safe sleeping. Please contact us to learn more about these opportunities.

Create Opportunities
We promote economic and professional opportunities for Black women to succeed and flourish by promoting local African-American businesses and agencies. We also provide connections to opportunities for African-American women to become doulas and lactation counselors to positively impact culturally competent healthcare in our community.
